Taiwanese manufacturer HTC has announced that sixteen of its Android smartphones will be getting the much awaited Ice Cream Sandwich update in the coming months. Company has already started rolling out Android 4.0 updates for Sensation and Sensation XE users in the select countries and others will follow soon.
The quad-core processor powered phones are finally here! As expected, the venue for these announcements has been the Mobile World Congress 2012 at Barcelona.
HTC unveiled its new lineup of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich smartphones at MWC, providing specifications for the One X, One XL, One S and One V, along with an April release date. Suggested pricing details have not been disclosed as yet. It gives users 25GB of free Dropbox online storage for 2 years.
With less than a week to go before MWC kicks off, HTC has revealed three of the devices it intends to showcase at the event – the HTC One S, E and X. All three devices are expected to run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and release in Q2 2012.
HTC has updated its bootloader unlocking tool for its Android range of devices, and now the bootloader is capable of unlocking all of HTC’s Android devices that have launched since September this year.
