Logitech Unveil Touch Mouse M600 for $69

Logitech has launched its first touch mouse, simply called the Touch Mouse M600. Logitech has gone for a design that ends up somewhere between Apple’s Magic Mouse and Microsoft’s Touch Mouse, although it seems to suffer from the same low profile as the Magic Mouse.

As with its competitors’ products, Logitech’s Touch Mouse M600 supports scrolling and swiping and Logitech claims that it’s just as smooth to use as the touch screen on a smartphone. There are no buttons on the Touch Mouse M600, but it still allows for right and left clicking like a normal mouse, unlike the recently launched Cube. As there are no buttons, the Touch Mouse M600 is ambidextrous, so it works just as well for lefties and righties.

The Touch Mouse M600 relies on an optical sensor, although Logitech claims that it offers “laser-grade precision”. The mouse is powered by a pair of AA batteries said to be good for up to six months usage and it uses Logitech’s unifying receiver which can be stored inside the mouse when not plugged into a computer. The Touch Mouse M600 will be available later this month with a retail price of US$69.99.
