The new models, the E6 and the X7, will go on sale for 340 euros ($491.6) and 380 euros respectively excluding subisidies and taxes, later this quarter.

In February, Nokia’s new chief executive Stephen Elop dumped Symbian software — which lost most of its lead on the smartphone market last year — saying the company would instead use Microsoft Corp’s unproven software as its primary platform.

Elop compared Symbian to a burning platform in a widely leaked internal memo, saying it was not good enough for Nokia’s future.

On Tuesday Nokia unveiled a new version of Symbian software, Symbian Anna with new icons, improved text input, faster Internet browsing and a refreshed Ovi Maps application.

The Nokia E6 business class smartphone features a 2.4-inch with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels along with a full QWERTY portrait keypad. It also has an 8 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and 720p HD video recording capabilities, it includes 8GB of internal storage and supports 3G connectivity. Nokia has mentioned that one of the mainf attractions of the device is its 681 hours of standby battery life and about 14 hours of talk time on GSM networks. As it is a part of the business series phones from Nokia it also comes with Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Communicator Mobile.

The Nokia X7 on the other hand seems like a multimedia oriented smartphone. It comes with a 4-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 640 x 360 pixels and there is no physical keypad. It has an 8 megapixel with 720p HD video recording capabilities and has 350MB of inbuilt storage capacity. Apprently it includes some great social networking options using Nokia Social and comes bundled with games like Galaxy on Fire HD and Asphalt 5 HD which may probably be demo version.
