Samsung has announced a new line of rugged microSD cards (and full-size SD cards) that feature a tough build and attractive exteriors.

The new cards have a brushed metal design and feature up to 24MB/sec read speeds (on 4GB or higher capacities). Samsung says this is fast enough to dish 1GB worth of data in as little as 42 seconds. Additionally, the cards are waterproof, shockproof, and magnet proof, and can withstand 24 hours in water, the force of a 1.6 ton vehicle (3,200 lbs), and resist up to a 10,000 gauss magnetic field, which is slightly less than the power of a medical imaging magnet.

The new cards should show up on retailer shelves in the very near future, but, in the meantime, you can check out the grid of capacities and retail prices below.
