Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Revealed: Features Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

Samsung has expanded its Android tablet line-up by unveiling the Galaxy Tab 2, a 7in device running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as the firm continues to challenge Apple’s iPad for dominance in the tablet market.

With Google’s ICS OS, users can expect to use a variety of new features such as Face unlock, wireless data monitoring without the use of third part apps, improved notifications, and Google’s improved voice recognition. We also expect Samsung to unveil an upgrade to their TouchWiz skin, although there is no official confirmation of this yet.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Specifications:

  • 1 GHz dual-core processor
  • 1 GB of RAM with options for 8; 16; and 32 GB of internal memory
  • MicroSD card slot for memory expansion
  • 7-inch; 1024 x 600 resolution
  • 3 megapixel fixed focus rear camera; VGA front camera
  • Bluetooth 3.0; GPS; HSPA+ support (on 3G model); Wi-Fi

The tablet will first hit the UK market, beginning in March. However, pricing is still a mystery as the company has not said anything related to it.
