Sony Ericsson unveils W8,first Walkman brand smartphone!

Sony Ericsson has unveiled its first ever Walkman smartphone—W8,which is the first Walkman phone running Android.This smartphone will be available in India, China, Indonesia, Malayasia, Singapore, Phillipines, Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam.

This Walkman smartphone is preloaded with manifold features and specifications. These include 3” capacitive touchscreen display, 600Mhz processor, 128MB memory on board, Android 2.1 Éclair, Timescape UI, 168MB of RAM, 3.5mm headphone jack, 3.2megapixel camera and Geo-tagging capability.

This Walkman series smartphone will come with a Player ported to Android, PlayNow technologies and TrackID music recognition. The new smartphone from Sony Ericcson is very much similar to the Xperia X8 with respect to its looks.

This smartphone will be available in three different colors of Azure Blue, Iconic Orange and Metallic Red. It is devoid of features such as Gingerbread and Froyo. The phone comers with a Walkman logo carved on it.

Internally its specifications are similar to that of the X8. Its 3.2 mega pixel camera will give users mediocre quality photos.

Preloaded with a 3G Network, the Walkman smartphone offers music listening time of 23 hours and 40 minutes.

It also offers access to social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and others and can be connected wirelessly either with the help of Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

    Sony Ericsson W8 is impressive. 168MB RAM and low power battery are major drawback in this device.
